She truly held my hand while I was feeling emotional and overwhelmed with details. When needed, she interacted with me and Justin - with positive results. Dealing with a Long Term Disability denial was a heavy burden, but Justin and his paralegal, Christina, were exceptional from day one. They are very personable, maintain excellent communication, and truly understand the immense stress that an appeal can have on a client. Their blueprint clearly outlines the entire process, assists with all the necessary documentation, and includes examples for reference purposes. I always knew exactly where we were in the process, as they provided next steps and set expectations during our regular touch-base calls. Jack Marchetti177 days agoMy vision was getting worse. It was due to a pre-existing condition so I assumed disability insurance wasn’t an option. Then one day I learned it was. I knew nothing about long-term disability, ERISA, etc.. I needed help. I spoke to several attorneys. Some local. Some national. Some big firms. Some boutique. What set Justin apart was he never tried to “sell” me or use scare tactics about insurance carriers. He simply answered my questions and said, “When it’s time, let me know.” Two years later, it was time. Justin and his paralegal, Christina, were incredibly responsive throughout the entire process. I still had plenty of questions, often multiple per day, and they always replied quickly, even on weekends. I had two policies with different carriers. One was approved within ten business days, with even more favorable benefits than I realized were included in the policy. The other was approved shortly thereafter. Harold Bautista441 days agoTaking on any insurance company with a claim is a daunting task for anyone. I was fearful that If I decided to file a disability claim on my own I would miss something. This would lead to a denial and the land of "lost" appeals. Having worked in the health care industry I know that the best chance to get a health insurance claim or pre-authorization approved is the very first time. Living in Virginia I was concerned about using an attorney out of state. I found Mr Frankel (Justin) via A Google search. He had almost a perfect 5 star review for very good reasons. From my first phone contact with Christina at Justin s office to the email from Justin stating that my claim was approved I was made to feel very comfortable and almost as if I was their only client. I am sure they are very busy with other clients. Despite this Justin answered phone calls and emails promptly: sometimes at 10 pm and on Saturdays! I told Justin that he is a gem in the murky legal world. This is quite refreshing. If I could give Justin and staff 6 stars I would. David Hyatt597 days agoIt’s my privilege to give Mr. Frankel five stars, I would give him more if I could. Going through the process of getting disability through the workplace can be a very strenuous accomplishment. I began a conversation with Justin almost 7-8 years ago and must have talked 8 to 10 times for the next couple of years before I actually made the choice to pursue. After reading, so many articles about what a nightmare and intimidating it was to get your benefits through private insurance I was just afraid to tackle that on my own. Justin walked me through every stage, and committed to me that he would make sure everything worked out and I that didn’t have anything to worry about. I finally got to the point where I was just kidding myself about trying to keep on working and trusted Justin to help me through this process. Probably one of the best decisions I have ever made. It is very intimidating to have to deal with companies and the way they act toward you (by giving you the runaround and putting you on hold, etc.) if you’re not someone that is familiar with the procedure. Another concern I had was the distance between us, I’m old school so I normally like to meet someone face-to-face that’s going to be handling such an important task for me, I am in North Carolina and he is in New York. That ended up not even being a factor. I could call Justin anytime and speak with him, not his office, Justin! If he was not there, I would leave a message, but I didn’t get far from my phone because he would be calling me back almost immediately. I never spoke to anyone during my whole process except for Justin! He was “Jonny on the spot” in every situation! Another thing to consider, “they” know who he is! If he’s working for you, you will get very little to no pushback, as my experience was as smooth as it could have possibly gone. So take it from me, if you don’t want the stress and hassle of dealing with all of the red tape and problems you will run into with insurance companies, call and speak with Justin today! I told him I’m certain he added a few more years to my life, taking all of the stress away from it. I am honored and proud to give him the highest review and consider him a friend after all that we have accomplished together. While experiencing a multitude of physical and mental conditions, filing for a disability claim added an enormous layer of stress, which greatly exacerbated my symptoms. Dealing with the insurance company was making my conditions exponentially worse and I felt absolutely helpless, something that I was not used to after having a successful professional career for 15 years. I received a call back in a timely response from the lovely Christina who was very straight forward with the intake process, and properly accessed my case with insightful things she was able to share within her knowledge. This saved me time on having to wait days for a callback with an attorney, or for an answer on whether they could assist with my case. Michelle F680 days agoI first contacted Justin around 2019 when my MS began to affect my career. I reached out to several lawyers, who were supposed to be experts in MS cases. Justin was the only one willing to meet with me for a free & in- person consultation; the rest wanted me to send ALL my records first. Justin spent a significant amount of time displaying his expertise; explaining the merits/challenges of my case; the required documentation; how his office would assist in the process; and the competitive fee structure and estimated costs. I continued to work, reaching out to him again, in 2021. Once more, he provided a free consultation answering all my questions. When I finally decided to file for STD/LTD in 2023 I chose Justin to represent me. Having worked in the insurance industry for 25+ years, I knew the process would be difficult, and confusing (even to me), and retained him for the STD claim; I wanted the STD to be executed impeccably so that there would be no issues with the LTD claims. Justin and Christina, Senior Paralegal, were, and continue to be, incredibly responsive throughout the entire process (I was approved for LTD but continue to have to battle the insurance company over diagnosis which affects the coverage). The office handles all the paperwork, and outreach to the insurance company, which reduces my stress levels tremendously (an important factor with MS). Elizabeth Emmens685 days agoJustin and his team helped me at one of the worst times of my life. My life had been forever altered by a freak accident causing me to have a traumatic brain injury. The TBI ended my career and my ability to be self reliant. I was a high level commercial insurance specialist prior to the accident. I knew how the insurance companies play games with claims but I’d never seen the games they played like with disability. It was humiliating and terrifying. I am dependent upon the disability insurance I paid for 25 years. The disability company tried everything they could to not pay but Justin and his team stepped in and protected me. I was one of those dentists who thought that would never be the case for me. Jon Gudmundson722 days agoI absolutely could not be happier about the work of Justin Frankel and his team—with an extra tip of the hat to his outstanding Senior Paralegal, Christina Panzarella. Knowing little about law or insurance, I felt completely at sea having to battle an insurance behemoth that had denied my long term disability (due to ME/CFS) claim. It was clear that I would need to have someone in my corner who knew the ropes. At the start, I imagined that I would likely be fobbed off to some assistant to an assistant. Imagine my surprise and delight at speaking directly and repeatedly with Justin and Christina. Their understanding of disability insurance is vast and deep, and their calm, professional manner was very welcome. Despite being experts, they haven’t forgotten how to explain to laypersons the byzantine world that insurance companies inhabit. ronald goldstein1075 days agoBe prepared to be asked a ton of personal information as well as irrelevant questions. Went to their chat on their website. After explaining my question (which took at least more than 5 minutes), they will have an attorney call you. However an attorney never called. An "intake information" person called and that went on for quite some time. Then I was told that if they think they can help me someone else will call. And all I wanted was to ask a simple question. Information regarding effect of private disability insurance if medicare approves SSDI request. It was a waist of time for me. So my conclusion is -- if its their time, it's important. If it's my time,-- it's not. Never did get the answer. It is obvious this firm - probably like most - have a screening process that allows them to maximize their atty's fees, and their time minimized. Even in its simplest form, the process is adversarial and one needs top notch representation. Jason Newfield and his staff, Kristin, provide just such legal services. My medical condition had deteriorated over a number of years to the point where a disability claim was inevitable. One files a claim and initially you get some support from the insurance company claim staff, but inevitably you hit the wall. The claim will be denied for any number of reasons. You have plenty of medical evidence, but the insurance company overwhelms you. This is why you need the excellent legal guidance Jason can provide. Jason is extremely knowledgeable in private disability insurance, knows the participants very well and has plenty of experience. He has been doing this work for years and is knowledgeable about what is required at different insurance companies.
